Run Coach
The man behind Run Republic! As a husband, father of 4 and passionate endurance athlete for over 30 years, Kane has a passion for helping people along their fitness journey. A professional athlete for over a decade, Kane is a 70.3 Ironman winner and has competed in some of endurance sport's most prominent events including UTMB, Ultra Marathons, Marathons and Ironman events all around the world.
As a coach for over 20 years, Kane loves passing on his passion for running & fitness to others. Kane reminds us daily that anyone can do anything with a bit of encouragement. The Run Republic crew wouldn’t be rising to the challenge each week without his continual support and encouragement.
He has supported so many people over the years to achieve goals and change their lives by making movement a priority. Run Republic was born out of a desire to make running a social encounter for all levels of running.
Run Coach
Kane and Joe have known each other for close to 30 years since racing triathlons together as juniors. After over 20 years in the sport, Joe retired from racing and is now a triathlon/strength & conditioning coach. He is a family man and a lifelong vegetarian turned vegan, being one of the few 100% plant based professional endurance athletes around.
Joe's professional career as a triathlete and now a coach has been fulfilling and rewarding in so many ways, travelling the world and learning from some of the greats in endurance sports. Joe is a former Professional Triathlete, Ironman champion & 3 x World Championship medalist. It has finally brought him back to Aus where he has recently settled with his wife Sage and his son.
We are privileged to have Joe on board to coach some Run Republic sessions and we know you will all benefit from his wealth of experience and desire to support others to run well and achieve their goals.
Run Coach
Lou has been a local run coach for many years, inspiring and supporting people of all ages to keep moving.
Lou runs a busy physiotherapist clinic based in Sandringham (well used by run republicans). Lou and her family (husband Bill & Son Tom) have always lived a very active lifestyle, that has taken them all over the world.
Lou has been successful in her own career in the endurance world. Commonwealth Games Gold medalist 1994 in cycling and 2 x top 10 Hawaiian Ironman. Lou is now in the 55-59 age group and still enjoying her running, regularly competing in endurance events.
She loves supporting others with advice, encouragement, physio treatments and coaching. Known for her direct advice and enthusiasm that “anyone can do anything” - we love Lou’s energy she brings to the sessions.
